Robert Long of North Nibley had at least three children who were baptised. Adrian was baptised at North Nibley with his brothers on 18th January 1572/3.
(?) Possible son: a Robert Long was buried in 1624/5 at North Nibley. He had a son Robert who was baptised on 11th May 1606 and died on 29th October 1606. His daughter Elizabeth was baptised on 20th January 1607.
In Men at Arms of 1608 for North Nibley there was a Robert Longe, Weaver, 2 p tr. (tall suitable for a Pykeman and also a trained soldier).

Adrian married Elizabeth Turner on 18th June 1601 at North Nibley and they had at least four children who were baptised at North Nibley between 1601 and 1614. He was described as a Labourer of North Nibley and was described in Men at Arms of 1608 for North Nibley as Adryan Longe, labourer, 2. py (40 years, meanest stature only suitable for a pyoner – little use!).

Elizabeth Turner married Adrian Long on 18th June 1601 at North Nibley and they had at least four children who were baptised at North Nibley between 1601 and 1614. He was described as a Labourer of North Nibley and was described in Men at Arms of 1608 for North Nibley as “Adryan Longe, labourer, 2. py” (40 years, meanest stature only suitable for a pyoner – little use!).

Robert Long was possibly the son of Adrian and Elizabeth Long of North Nibley and if so he was baptised on 7th November 1602 at North Nibley. He married Sara Phelps on 9th May 1633 at North Nibley and she was buried there on 29th July 1643, ‘wife of Robt Long’. Robert had a child Sarah and possibly Joseph who was baptised at North Nibley on 10th June 1637 at North Nibley.
It is possible that Robert Long remarried because Mary Long, ‘wife of Robert Long’ was buried at North Nibley on 21st October 1678.
Robert was Constable of North Nibley in 1663/4 and an Overseer of a will in 1680.He was a Broadweaver of Fromhalf, North Nibley and he made his will on 15th February 1690/1. He died on 28th February 1690/1 and the will was proved on 15th February 1690/1.
On 7th October 1680 William Long made his will and appointed Robert and George Long as his overseers. He referred to his son-in-law Abraham Nelmes and also his grandchildren – John and William Nelmes. This William Long may be a brother of Robert Long (?)
Extract of the Will of Robert Long, North Nibley, Gloucestershire 1690/1:
‘In the Name of God, Amen, I Robert Long of North Nibley in the county and Diocese of Gloucester, Broadweaver, sick and weak but of sound mind and perfect memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament.
I give to my daughter, Sarah Organ All my linen of all sorts and all the table boards and frames, bedsteads and cupboards, that be in the house, to remain in the house for her use for her life and then after her decease I do give and bequeath the same to my grandchild, Maurice Organ.
Item to my grandchild, Maurice Organ, I do give and bequeath all my wearing apparel and to his son Maurice Organ I do give two of my best sheep with their lambs if they have any.
I give and bequeath to my grandchild, Robert Longe the two next best sheep I have with their lambs if they have any.
I give and bequeath to my great-grandchild Martha Organ the next best sheep I have with his lamb if he have any.
I give and bequeath all the rest of my worldly goods not yet disposed of to my son Joseph Long and Sarah Organ whom I do make my joint executors of this my last will and testament and I appoint John Dorny and Abraham Nelme to be the two overseers of this my last will and testament and give then half a crown a piece to buy them gloves.
Dated this fifteenth day of February, 1690. Robert X Long his mark.

Robert Long married Sara Phelps on 9th May 1633 at North Nibley and she was buried there on 29th July 1643, ‘wife of Robt Long’. Robert had a child Sarah and possibly Joseph who was baptised at North Nibley on 10th June 1637 at North Nibley.
It is possible that Robert Long remarried because Mary Long, ‘wife of Robert Long’ was buried at North Nibley on 21st October 1678.

Sarah Long, the daughter of Robert and Mary Long, was born in about 1630 at North Nibley. Her father was a broadweaver. She married Morrice Organ I on 6th June 1657 at Berkeley. They had at least eleven children who were baptised at Berkeley between 1659 and 1676. These children included Robert who died aged five in 1668, Joseph who died in 1670 only a few weeks old, Sarah who lived only a few days in 1671 and Robert who lived for four months in 1674. The youngest children, Joseph and Mary, were born in 1676 as twins.
Morrice Organ I was buried at Berkeley on 22nd February 1682 and his widow, Sarah, was buried on 3rd May 1697.

Joseph Long was mentioned in his father’s will. He may have been baptised on 10th June 1637 at North Nibley
His son was a cousin of Maurice Organ II, Great VII Grandfather:

Robert Organ was baptised on 16th August 1673 at North Nibley and he may have been buried on 4th November 1706. He is mentioned in his Grandfather’s will of 1690/1.
