The Story of the Catholic Church in Painswick by Ursula Usher (1990)

Edited by Brian Torode and Richard Barton

Firstly, Mrs. Usher of Painswick produced an account of the development of the Mission, mainly from her own recollections, to which Richard Barton added further material using the Clifton Diocesan Archives, local newspapers and a typescript history produced by James Newton Langston. Brian Torode then edited the story into an article for a special Painswick edition of the Journal of the Gloucestershire and North Avon Catholic History Society.
